In January 1996, Bill Gates released an essay titled “Content is King”, which was published on the Microsoft website.

The phrase "knowledge is power" is often attributed to Francis Bacon, from his Meditationes Sacrae (1597).  Thomas Jefferson, however, is more famously associated with this quote as he used the phrase in his correspondence on at least four occasions, each time in connection with the establishment of a state university in Virginia.

With the internet a piece of our culture today, the knowledge included in the content produced is far and wide. One can easily get lost or distracted.

When it comes to Higher Education, these ten websites should be bookmarked by everyone in HigherEd.
